The Bellaguarda Fruit and Vegetable Producers’ Organization joins together 100 members, settled mainly in Mantova, Cremona, Reggio Emilia and Parma provinces. The organization was founded in 1973 as a result of the producers’ desire to promote and to increase the value of their productions. The warehouse, under controlled atmosphere, is equipped with automatic systems for the processes of cleaning, sizing and packaging of melons and watermelons. Eight refrigerated rooms with a capacity of 1,500 tonnes make possible the prolongation of the melons’ shelf life and the preservation of the pears in winter time.
